Building Regulations notification applies to notifiable work — not every electrical job is notifiable.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) are carried out systematically, with the installation inspected and tested in accordance with the agreed extent and limitations of the inspection. Visual inspection and electrical testing are carried out where applicable, with findings clearly recorded.
